Project London Adventure

 In Journal

I am having an adventure in my own home town. After my birthday at the end of Feb, I posted this on my facebook wall:

Hearing from so many of you brilliant folk from all over the world this week, has awoken my itchy feet. I decided after Burning Man 2013 to not travel far for a while, and instead to build a life and community that I love in London. I always struggled a bit with London, not helped by incredible adventures around the world and the good friends I met, that always left me a bit unsettled when I returned. This past 18 months has been something different, with only small trips in europe that have been highly scheduled and for training of some sort.

The result is that I love being in London and have built a rich community of awesome people around me. I have been forced to look within, and around me, rather then find what I was seeking in new places, new faces and old friends.

I want an adventure. But here is my idea, instead of jumping on a plane, I am seeking an adventure in London. Over the years I have introduced so many friends when they have ended up in the same city or when I have been there visiting. As a result I have sparked some beautiful friendships in places including Tokyo, Beirut, New York and Dubai. And with each of those friendships, I have felt closer to both people.

My invitation is this, will you help me have an adventure in my own home city by introducing me to your favourite people in London, that you think I might have an interesting conversation with? And I will go to their favourite hang outs to meet them, not mine. And we will skype you when we meet up (time zone permitting) so you join the adventure too.

Many people liked the post. But sadly the introductions have been slow. I have only had one adventure which involved spending a whole day with somebody that I knew already but had never hung out that much with. It was fun, I was a guest on his radio show and we went to some fun parties with burning man people. I am posting this here today as a reminder to those who said they had introductions and in case one of you reading this has something in mind.

Do you know somebody in London that you think is right for my London Adventure? If so drop us an e-mail introduction on takeamoment(at)amisha.co.uk

**** How do you find ways to adventure in the place where you live? What are your #hometownadventures?
