SUMMARY:The Heart of Transformation - Navaratri Sadhana
DESCRIPTION:The Heart of Transformation \nNAVRATRI SADHANA\, October 2020 \nJoin Amisha Ghadiali and Mischa Varmuza for a 9 day sādhanā during the auspicious festival of Navratri\, 17-25 October\, 2020\, from the power of your own home. \nWe invite you into a brave and sacred space\, with a global community of sisters to harness the transformational energy of this time. We will journey to awaken and deepen our relationship with the Divine Feminine and to integrate both our personal experiences and the collective challenges alive in the world right now.  \nThe sādhanā is designed to create a powerful container with the offering to draw into a deeper personal retreat space with guidelines and suggestions around diet and daily rhythms and commitments\, \nNavratri is the festival of nine victorious nights\, in devotion of the many faces of Durga and in celebration of the victory of good over evil.  \nDurga means The invincible\, The Inaccessible or The Fortress and She is the great Warrior Goddess and the power or aspect of consciousness and of the Divine Feminine that protects.  She represents the fearless heart and awakens the courage we need to meet our fears and challenges\, whether they be living external challenges or inner fears and limiting beliefs. She empowers us to listen to our Truth\, to trust the process and to rise up in Love and Service for the Greater good.  \nThis is an invitation to direct energy towards the areas within your life that you seek support\, transformation or a radical shift in thought or structure – in service to our personal growth and the collective healing of our planet.  \nThrough our practices and journey together we will awaken and celebrate the spirit of Durga\, as warrior Goddess. We will tend to the flame of the heart and focus our energy and commitment towards amplifying our power and wisdom and remembering our worth. \nThis festival begins on the New Moon and as the moon waxes with the energy of the Goddess\, the power of Shakti within is illuminated and magnified throughout our lives. It is a potent time for inner work and we hope that you will join us. \n  \n \n  \nWhat’s included; \nBe part of a global community of sisters \n2 x 3 Hour Live sādhanā & circle on the first and last day (including myth\, āsana\, prāṇāyāma\, mantra\, mudrā & sharing) \n7 x 30 minute daily live chanting\, mantra & prayer (you will have the video & audio to do this in your own time if you can’t make it live)  \nSuggestions on how to deepen your sadhana through diet\, daily rhythms and commitments for these days \n11 x daily emails with teachings\, reflections and contemplations \nOptional chat group to connect with your sadhana sisters  \n  \nThe Details: \n  \n* Opening circle & practice – Saturday 17th October 10am til 1pm (BST) / 2.30 til 7pm (IST) \n(On zoom – recording will be send out straight afterwards)  \n  \n* Daily mantra & prayer – weekends at 9.30am\, weekdays 8am (BST) / weekends at 2pm\, weekdays 12.30pm IST) \n(On zoom – recording will be available after opening circle in case these timings don’t suit you)  \n  \n* Closing circle & practise – Sunday 25th October 3-6pm (GMT) / 7.30pm-10.30pm (IST) \n(On zoom – recording will be send out straight afterwards)  \n  \nMischa will be coming live from India\, and Amisha from the UK. Participation from all over the world is welcome. For example if you are in the states\, you can do the opening workshop and daily sadhana in your own time and join for the closing. Even if you can’t join live\, you will feel the community from the shared practice and the chat group.  \n  \n \nAbout your hosts: \n  \nAmisha & Mischa are deep sadhana sisters\, and have offered The Heart of Transformation retreats in the UK and in India over the past four years. They have also been together on many sacred sites\, as well as yoga teacher trainings\, ashrams and temples. Together they offer a powerful container for the embodiment of the goddess as well as a deep reverence for the healing arts of yoga.  \n  \nAmisha Ghadiali has celebrated Navartri since she was a child. In her cultural tradition\, the women gather for nine nights of dance called Garba\, where they dance with special sticks and celebrate. This is celebrated in this way by Gujaratri women and the name is derived from the Sanskrit term Garbha (“womb”) and Deep (“a small earthenware lamp”). A lamp and statues of the goddess are placed in the centre as the dancers circle around. It’s always been a special time of celebration\, being with women of all generations and wearing her favourite saris. As a yoga and meditation teacher\, Navaratri took on new meaning as she felt the power in the subtle fields of this time of year\, as a time of renewal\, courage and empowerment. Amisha loves sharing the myth of Durga and this battle as the awakening of the inner activist in all of us\, that is powered by love. This is a time for the slaying of our inner demons\, and for rising up in our personal lives and the way we contribute to the collective. For spring Navarati this year which was just after lockdown was announced in the UK\, Amisha went offline and into silence for the whole of the festival and wrote the nine principles for her book\, Intuition which comes out this December. It is always a potent time. Amisha is an intuitive therapist who works with energy and subconscious patterns with her clients which she supports with sessions and her presence leadership mentoring. She is currently hosting Presence Collective; a membership space for creative\, connected and courageous living\, and The Beautiful Leadership Immersion. She is also the author of the collaborative book\, and host of the globally acclaimed podcast\, The Future Is Beautiful.  \nwww.amisha.co.uk  \n  \nMischa Varmuza has been exploring India’s sacred heart and traditions for over fourteen years during which she has spent extensive time visiting sacred sites and practicing under the guidance of true masters of yoga. Alongside her yoga study\, she is also immersed in the path of the Priestess tradition\, a way of embodied practice and ritual and a sincere journey of reclamation of the Divine Feminine which deeply supports the seeking\, harnessing and revering of the sacred energy and wisdom of Shakti. The celebration of Navratri is a precious and powerful time for celebration and devotion of Shakti\, the Goddess\, in the form of Durga and in recent years Mischa has formed a strong relationship with the energy of this festival\, both in her own practice under the guidance of her Tantric Master and also sharing with others\, offering live immersions and online practices for students. This time last year she was fortunate enough to spend time at the ashram in Nagpur to celebrate Chaitra Navratri and was initiated into the science of yagna (sacred fire ceremony) during a beautiful and powerful dive into Tantric sadhana. Mischa honours yoga’s capacity for transformation and self discovery and is continually humbled by the practice; the way in which it inspires growth and invites a profound experience of the fullness of life itself. She is devoted to exploring the unfolding of the Self\, to realising the innate freedom and Love that resides within each of us. She has been teaching classes\, workshops and retreats globally since 2012 and shares a layered and heartfelt practice reflecting the adventure and texture of her experiences and study. The practice she offers is rich with mantra\, philosophy\, myth\, chanting\, meditation and ritual and you will be taken on a joyful journey of internal and external unfolding. \nwww.mischavarmuza.com \n  \nHow to join: \nWe are offering this on a sliding scale\, please pay what you can.  \n£108/88/55 \n***You can register for the sadhana by clicking here.*** \nRegistration closes on midnight of Thursday 15th so that you can receive the preparation documents and start the sadhana ready on the Saturday. \nYou can watch us share a bit more about it on this instagram live. \nWe are able to offer a further discount for BIPOC or those in need of this right now and are not in a place to join at £55. SUMMARY:The Elephant meets Amisha
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by The Alternative UK: \nWe’re really happy that our next speaker in our “The Elephant Meets…” series\, aimed at showcasing those who are building the next system to come\, is with Amisha Ghadiali\, via Zoom at Tue\, 6 Oct 2020 17:00 – 18:30 BST (click here to sign up for free). \nAmisha is a broadcaster\, meditation leader and activist\, but she’s best known for her book\, now a weekly podcast\, titled The Future Is Beautiful. Here Amisha takes the simple but bold step of exploring what a desirable and attractive – rather than dystopian and negative – future might be\, by means of extensive and intensive interviews. \nBelow is a short piece from Amisha laying out her vision and practice: \n‘Search what is good and strong and beautiful in your society and elaborate from there. Push outward. Always create from what you already have. Then you will know what to do” — Michel Foucault \nWe are living in a time that calls for re-imagination\, vision and resilience. We are experiencing the collapse\, in some cases\, and in others the epic shortcomings of the systems that create our societies. \nWhen there is so much possibility to get lost in fear\, isolation and hopelessness – we must choose something else. Systemic change happens hand in hand with inner transformation. \nIn 2010 I started a project called Think Act Vote (which is now The Future Is Beautiful). I started to ask people to share their visions of the world that they want to live in and to remember that they can create them. A simple question – What is the future you choose? \nIn a system where the political is failing us\, it is so important that each of us as empowered citizens have a vision for what is possible\, and that we are co-creating it each day in whatever small ways we can. Interestingly the vision part can be hard\, as we have been conditioned to be cynical\, to be powerless\, to feel small. \nYet we should allow ourselves to connect to that part of us that knows what makes being alive beautiful and what makes our communities thrive. When we do so\, we experience not just a shift in consciousness\, but the inspiration to show up and do our part\, as we weave our thread in the tapestry of a co-created beautiful future. \nThe inner transformation is what connects us to our resilience\, to our souls\, to our intuition. In a world of complexity\, these are our superpowers\, or to put it more plainly\, the most needed life skills of this time. \nWhether it is discerning what news is fake\, keeping ourselves out of social media rabbit holes\, understanding how to nurture our communities amongst the pandemic restrictions – these are the parts of us that allow us to see the bigger picture\, find our role and know what to do next. \nThrough connecting to ourselves as souls – not consumers\, statistics or employees\, but souls – we are able to understand what is missing\, to listen deeply\, and to offer something alternative. We are able to connect to what is important to us\, to the beauty that is our birthright\, to the realms of what is possible. \nOur resilience allows us to find inner resources\, to stay connected to something bigger than the individual\, so that we may continue to protect what is important\, and keep finding ways to honour what is important to our communities. \nThe challenges of lockdowns\, and the way this has threatened the social fabric of our communities\, has been a test of that resilience. With domestic violence\, suicide\, anxiety and depression rising\, the more we can nurture the resilience in ourselves and our communities\, we can find ways to thrive\, to lead and to co-create. \nOur intuition allows us to see possibilities\, to discern what is vital and to find the next steps. Through this intuition\, we tap into an intelligence we all have that is beyond mind and concepts but where we understand more than we can verbalise. We can then live with this greater interconnected intelligence as a guiding force. \nIt’s both comforting and inspiring to know that we have many of the resources that we need within us\, and in our communities\, if we are able to see with this lens of possibility. It is from here that we can find ways to heal and change the complex systems that make our world. \nSometimes this change is softer\, subtle and seemingly small\, but never doubt the power of this. It starts with a vision\, from believing in the future that you choose\, and believing in your birthright to co-create it. \nMore on Amisha here. Come and chat about how to imagine a beautiful future\, and then bring that about\, on Tuesday\, October 6th 2020\, from 17.00-18.30 (Free admission).

SUMMARY:The art of deep listening: Listening to each other\, listening to Earth
DESCRIPTION:A workshop exploring deep listening\, weaving together the threads of solitude\, togetherness and interconnectedness with Earth. With Amisha Ghadiali\, founder of The Future is Beautiful. \nIn many ways the power of our listening determines the quality of our life. How much do we actually listen with open hearts and minds? Do we allow for the wisdom that lives inside us\, in each other and in the earth to bloom into form? There is so much valuable information that we can tune into in the subtleties. Here we find so much of the wisdom that we need to embody so we can co-create a beautiful future. \nDeep listening is a modern art form\, that can take us into and beyond the human realms as we explore the interconnected web of our existence.\n\nIn this workshop\, we will explore the spaces of deep listening – to ourselves\, to each other and to Earth. We will take time to centre into soulful stillness and deeply listen to our inner worlds through meditation\, mudra and contemplation. We will connect to each other – sharing our reflections\, practicing active and safe listening. We will take an hour to go on solo micro-pilgrimages into the wild nature surrounding us to listen to the whispers of the Earth.\n\nThroughout our time together we will be weaving in and out of these threads of solitude\, togetherness and interconnectedness with Earth. \nAbout the series\n\nThe calling for us to reconcile our relationship with the Earth\, our common home\, could not be more urgent.  andemics are just one symptom of the delicate balance of life that we have destroyed.  As melting ice caps merge into sea\, wild fires rage\, the body of the earth continues to warm\, it is obvious that political\, economic and even environmental efforts are failing to protect\, preserve or sustain life.  A deeper response is required.  So what kind of actions can truly create the changes we so desperately need? \nAs they say in the Lakota tradition\, we cannot have peace on Earth\, unless we also have peace with Earth.  Spiritual ecology is both an ancient and newly emerging field which brings together ecology and environmentalism with the awareness of nature as alive\, as animate\, and as sacred.  It proposes that at this time of ecological and social unravelling\, spiritual values have the potential to provide the foundation from which to respond and rebuild. \nIn Listening to each other ~ Listening to Earth\, we want to speak the story of interbeing in a way that honours both the human story and the other-than-human story\, exploring how they are inextricably woven together.  We aim to include climate justice and raise up the voices\, wisdom and leadership of people of colour. \n* Reserve your place

SUMMARY:The Future Is Beautiful LIVES - webinars with some of our guests on co-creating a new normal
DESCRIPTION:The Future Is Beautiful Live Sessions // As we vision a new normal \nAs we make our way towards Series Four\, we wanted to take some time to connect LIVE and be together as we make sense (or sit in this uncertainty) of what a new normal is in a post Corona world. \nOur first few episodes of this new series will come from excerpts of these conversations that we are hosting now. Before we bring new guests to the show\, we wanted to open up space for the wisdom of our patrons\, and connect back with some of our guests from previous episodes. \nWe have been building a community over ten years now\, three with the podcast – and rely on patron support and Amisha donating her time (and often money) to keep this show alive. We know how important these conversations have been to many of you. If you can support the show at this time by becoming a patron\, joining presence collective and/or buying a ticket for one of these live sessions – it will be a massive help! And so much value for you too. All links below. \nAs we live through these extraordinary times\, it’s so important to remember that we create the future\, we offer these live spaces so we may co-create this new paradigm together. \nWe are hosting LIVES with our guests with our guests Sally Kempton\, Jyoti\, Mac Macartney\, Manish Jain\, Charles Eisenstein\, Bayo Akomolafe\, Nina Simons\, Stephanie Mines\, Zerbanoo Gifford\, Jeremy Lent\, Indra Adnan\, Phoebe Tickell\, Amanda Ravenhill\, Zaid Hassan\, Sacha Stone and Mallence Bart-Williams. \nTo register for these events\, go here.

SUMMARY:London: Human // Nature // Stories
DESCRIPTION:I am speaking at this fantastic day event. \nTickets available here – https://ticketpass.org/event/EOTREJ \n  \nHumans have woven stories since the dawn of time. Speckled across the pages of our existence is the ink of myth\, fable\, & folklore\, and the echoes of adventurous anecdotes and worldly tales linger from centuries ago… \nUsing a variety of tools\, such as language\, art\, movement\, & sound\, humans have crafted narratives about what it means to be alive in the world for millennia. Whilst our cultures may have changed\, the essence of human nature remains intact\, buried deep within the scriptures of the soul. \nFictive or not\, we have used stories to make sense of things throughout our evolution\, both individually and collectively. \nIn an undefinable world filled with undefinable phenomena\, such as consciousness and love\, we are compelled by our very nature to understand all that we experience\, and in our attempts we inadvertently bring forth beauty through poetry\, music\, revolutionary conversation and so on. We also unwittingly bring forth delusion. \nSome argue that the human desire to forge meaning through such methods misses the point\, others argue that meaningless meaning-making is the point. \nToday\, the way we see ourselves in the world is a dark tale\, one in which a separation from nature\, spirit\, and wisdom has caused a rift in inter-human and human-Earth relations. Our world is made of stories. How might we envision a new one in a time of crisis? \nFrom bedtime stories to the grandiose meta-narratives of our time\, expect interdisciplinary\, enlivening wisdom from a band of tale-telling poets\, artists\, and philosophers. \nQuestion: How can we use stories to reevaluate and more effectively understand human nature in a time that requires a whole new way of being? \nAim: Understanding how humans have told their collective story throughout the ages\, and what kind of story we need now.

SUMMARY:Wild Grace at Embercombe - Devon UK
DESCRIPTION:https://amisha.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/amisha-wild-grace.mp4\nBook via Embercome here \n  \nIn this week of meditation\, yoga\, myth\, ritual and study\, we work closely the female deities of the Hindu tradition to awaken our feminine powers and come into balance with the divine masculine within. \nEmbercombe is a beautiful and wilding 50 acre valley on the edge of Dartmoor. It is place to find a deep connection with nature – wild nature around us and wild nature within us. It is a place to breathe\, to reconsider\, to regenerate and to relearn. It is a place to get clear on what it is you have to offer the world and become passionate about who you are and what you do. It is a place to join the conversation\, pick up the skills and get started. \nWe live in troubled times. The news is not good\, rapid decline in biodiversity\, accelerating climate change\, an uncertain future for our children and wild nature around us. We could despair. Or we could step up to the challenge with hope – with the courage to dig deep and find the gifts that we have to offer right now\, regardless of what the future holds. \nBook via Embercome here \n\n\n\nTimes: 1 pm Sun. 8th September – 1 pm Fri. 13th September \nFee: £595 (Bursary’s available)  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWild Grace is an experience to reclaim these lost parts of yourself so that you can live in a fuller sense of wholeness\, power and responsibility. \nIn the tantra worldview\, the masculine (shiva) is consciousness and the feminine (shakti) is energy. Each of us\, whether male or female\, have both inside us and we are working towards a more balanced sense of being. \nThis means we need to fully honour the masculine in ourselves and in society\, and at the same time tap into our feminine nature – and deep capacity we have to love\, to listen\, to birth\, to create\, to play\, to channel wisdom\, to bring sensitivity\, to live through our intuition\, to transform and be connected to nature. \nTo do this\, we must also understand our shadow and the patterns we may have fallen into\, from victimhood to insecurity to manipulation to passive aggression. \n  \n\nWhat To Expect\nEach day will be themed on a different deity taken from the Hindu mythology – the word deity translates as shining playful ones.  We will start the day with meditation\, the mythological story of the deity\, mudra\, mantra and a deep yoga asana class which will take us deep into the myth. \nAfter lunch we will have time to “workshop” the qualities of the theme of the day\, and then after dinner we will take part in a ritual where we are able to fully celebrate and embody this. \nWe will move through any blocks holding us back from our power and awaken our divine feminine in the form of beauty\, wisdom\, courage\, fierceness and compassion. This retreat will give you a grounded understanding and expand your connection to these Goddesses\, as well as your relationship with your own feminine power and it’s balance with your inner masculine. \nWe use the Hindu deities as a map\, but you don’t have to believe in Hinduism or in yourself as a goddess to take part. It’s a language that helps us to uncover different aspects of ourselves. These are deities that are often referred to in modern yoga. \nOver the week we will be exploring multiple themes of this time including: our true nature and relationship with our shadow\, sacred activism\, our relationship with our body and our self. \nIs It For You?\nThis course is for you if you wish to expand your awareness of your inner dynamics in a grounded way\, using the mythology and practices of a well-established tradition. SUMMARY:Wild Grace - Retreat for Women
DESCRIPTION:WILD GRACE \nA Heroine’s Journey  \nDo you as a woman ever feel that you have been put in a box? Maybe you are the nice one\, or the sexy one\, or the intelligent one? As you have grown more into a narrow image of who you are – do you feel that parts of you have been shut down or left unexpressed\, unattainable. Wild Grace is a women’s retreat to reclaim these lost parts of yourself so that you can live in a fuller sense of wholeness\, power and responsibility. \nThe Dalai Lama famously said “The world will be saved by the western woman” – whether or not we can save the whole world – we are certainly in a unique position in history where we have freedom and resources to cultivate our feminine aspects\, use our voice and inspire others. We can’t stay in our boxes\, and we must help each other rise. \nThis is our heroine’s journey. We will explore and embody many different aspects of the feminine experience allowing them to fully come alive in us. \nFor this retreat\, it will be an intimate small group. Powerful things happen when us women come together\, leaving behind for just a week the stresses and routines of our daily lives. A lot can shift in just seven days and you can bring that back to your relationships\, and your business or workplace. \n \nAbout the week:  \nEach day will be themed on a different aspect of the feminine – and the element and deity associated with it. We will start each day with meditation\, the mythological story of the deity\, mudra\, mantra and a deep yoga asana class which will take us deep into the myth. \nAfter lunch we will have time to “workshop” the qualities of the theme of the day\, including the ‘shadow’ elements. And then after dinner we will take part in a ritual where we are able to fully celebrate and embody this feminine energy. \nMeet within the Goddesses Lakshmi\, Sawaswati\, Durga\, Kali and Green Tara as we will awaken their potent qualities inside of ourselves through this experience. With mythology\, mantra\, mudra\, yoga\, dance\, energy healing\, creative workshops and ritual we will discover our connection to each of these goddesses and the Shakti that they represent in us and in the world. \nWe will move through any blocks holding us back from our power and awaken our divine feminine in the form of beauty\, wisdom\, courage\, fierceness and compassion. This retreat will give you a grounded understanding and forever expand your connection to these Goddesses\, as well as your relationship with your own feminine power and it’s balance with your inner masculine. \nIn the tantra worldview\, the masculine (shiva) is consciousness and the feminine (shakti) is energy. Each of us whether male or female has both so this understanding isn’t about the difference between men and women. Likewsie\, this system is different to the system of Yin and Yang which comes from Taoism\, where the Yin (feminine) is the listening\, soft aspect and the Yang (masculine) is the active\, logical aspect. \nWe will start and end the week with this understanding of this divine union of Shiva and Shakti – so the Shiva energy will be present and holding us through our process throughout the week. \n \nWe use the Hindu goddesses as a map\, but you don’t have to believe in Hinduism or in yourself as a goddess to take part. It’s a language that helps us to uncover different aspects. These are deities that are often referred to in modern yoga. To understand more about this you can listen to Amisha interviewing Sally Kempton on The Future Is Beautiful podcast\, here. \n“What really is a ‘deity’? The word deva in Sanskrit (or the feminine form\, devī) comes from a Sanskrit root √div\, meaning both ‘shine’ and ‘play’. So deities are the shining playful ones. They are icons of our own essence-nature in its many aspects. The deities are real as patterned forms of consciousness that exist both within you (as an aspect of your essence-nature) and as patterns of energy-flow in the wider universe (of which you are\, of course\, a microcosm). Therefore deities are not reducible to either ‘gods’ (divine persons) or to ‘archetypes’ (aspects of our psyche)\, though in a sense they partake of the qualities of both.” Hareesh Wallis \n\nThis is about understanding the heroine’s journey and what it means to be a woman at this time – from menstrual cycles to activism to fire to water\, to finding our softness\, to finding our voice. We will explore and embody many different aspects of the feminine experience. These practices will open up connections to our female ancestors and future generations. \nAlthough the feminine is part of all of us\, man or woman\, this is only for those who identify as women to come together in\, dare I say it\, sisterhood and experience the collaborative supportive side of women being together. \nIf you need some woman to woman time and want to explore different aspects of yourself in a fun and loving way – come! \nDon’t be put off by what have become buzz words of the modern priestess and new age world – ritual\, sisterhood\, moon\, etc – but please know that this will be a grounded\, rich and deep week – full of laughter and probably some tears\, rest and realisations. It’s a week of personal development\, transformation and action. \n \n\n  \nWhere Wild Grace came from: \n“Two years ago\, I was standing out in the cold night in the British countryside under the November full moon. I was howling as I was embarking on a great transition. Putting my belongings in storage\, leaving a very comfortable nest and taking a chance on a less stable but fuller lifestyle that I felt in my heart was where I needed to go – India. As I howled at the moon\, the words Wild Grace came to me and I immediately pictured this gathering. I saw the women gathered and the different elements from the rituals to the mantras to the sisterhood. I saw the women discovering an aspect of freedom in themselves and qualities and gifts that they hadn’t yet unwrapped in themselves. It was so beautiful and it felt so strong. And yet every time I started to plan it\, something didn’t feel right. I had to go on a deeper adventure to be able to hold this space. As my intention was that we would fully embody these five aspects of our feminine energy throughout the week. This year I taught a three hour version in Bali at Yoga Barn which was my favourite workshop I have ever done. Last year I taught a short version in Goa at a beautiful women’s healing festival. The long version is an all woman week designed to take us out of any boxes we have been put in\, put each other in or put ourselves in and discover different and perhaps unknown aspects of our feminine energy through mythology\, yoga\, mantra\, dance\, ritual and creativity. I can’t wait to share this very special adventure with you.” Amisha Ghadiali \n“Thank you for holding this beautiful space for us. Your presence is a true inspiration! One of the most intense workshops I have attended. I feel even stronger in my power as a woman. And I was able to let go of some old programming that holds me back from connecting with my divine feminine. I feel this is only the start of a deeper journey.”  Alisa\, participant of Wild Grace three hour workshop at The Yoga Barn\, Bali.  \n  \n \n  \nThe Details: \nThursday May 16th – Wednesday May 22nd – over the full moon. \nArrival for 4pm on the Thursday we end at noon on the Wednesday. SUMMARY:Into the Heart of Yoga - Seva Retreat with Ramana's Garden in Rishikesh India
DESCRIPTION:March 13-20th 2019  \nYoga. Service. Pilgrimage   \nHave you ever wanted to travel to India and actually make a difference? Here is an incredible opportunity to visit the birthplace of yoga where the holy river Ganga runs through\, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas in Northern India and actually give back in a real and needed way. \nWe will be working with Ramana’s Garden which is an incredible children’s home\, refuge\, school and organic cafe which provides support\, care and education to over 200 of India’s most vulnerable children giving them unbelievable opportunities to break the cycle of poverty\, abuse and homelessness and bring their gifts into the world. \nIf you feel a longing in your heart to serve\, and want to go on an adventure – this is for you. Rise up as a spiritual activist and join us in India. \n \n  \nIt will be a small and intimate group\, and we will spend seven days in the children’s home in Rishikesh – supporting the kids\, playing\, helping out with the opportunity to also explore the city. This whole journey will be supported by other aspects of yoga as well karma yoga including asana\, meditation\, mantra\, spiritual teachings and sharing circles so that it is a fully held process and journey of discovery. This is an incredible opportunity to understand the true depths of yoga as well as visit India in a meaningful\, eye and heart opening way. This will be a life changing experience for everybody who takes part. \n  \n \n  \nWhat is Karma Yoga? \nKarma yoga is the yoga of action – it is an important aspect of the yogic path which means giving in service to the world as a form of devotion to something bigger than yourself. It means doing something beautiful just because – not for any reward or personal gain. Seva in sanskrit means selfless service. Although the reality of seva in my experience (Amisha) is that it never is truly self-less although you may have that intention as giving to others feels good and is a very healing and transformative action. There is an innate heart opening and feeling of satisfaction which often occurs with service. Gandhi famously said “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” This is yoga – volunteering your time\, and giving your energy and love to these amazing kids. \n \nWhy are we doing this?  \n“I have been interested for a long time in how we travel and make a difference. Travel is such a perspective changing adventure that can literally bring down walls inside of us and in the world as it challenges us to meet ourselves and redefine our understanding of race and borders. As yoga continues to grow and spread in the world\, more and more people want to visit India as part of their spiritual journey\, it brings about questions and cultural appropriation and the effects of spiritual tourism. I have for some time wanted to make my retreats more sustainable and impactful in the local communities – so that as well as our inner transformation work\, we can make a difference. We have to understand that we are of a “travelling class” that not everyone in the world is and so it’s important that we use this in a way that really holds respect. \nI feel that with our overloaded western lifestyles\, retreats are an important way of going deeper and re-setting our patterns\, and from spending much time in India I feel that there are experiences that you can only have there. Being in India and surrounded by the culture that yoga came from\, brings the inner understanding to light in a more intense and beautiful way. And yet many travel to this and neighbouring countries and live a lifestyle that is actually quite selfish\, failing to engage with the reality around them. In India it is estimated that over one billion people live below the poverty line – there are many children that do not have access to our basic human needs such as somewhere safe to live\, clean water to drink and access to education. If you love yoga\, and you want to understand more about India\, this is an incredible way to give back to those that really need it\, in a safe and supported way. I love this notion showing up with our head\, heart and hands. It’s with our hands that we give.” Amisha Ghadiali \n \n  \nAbout Ramana’s Garden: \nRamana’s Garden is a children’s refuge\, home\, school and organic café situated in the beautiful North Indian city of Rishikesh. Located between mountains at the bank of the holy River Ganga (Ganges)\, Ramana’s was founded by Prabhavati Dwabha more than 20 years ago as a refuge for children at risk of poverty and abuse in India and Nepal. Approximately 70 kids live full time at Ramana’s Garden\, and more than 200 kids attend school at Ramana’s each day during the school year. \nThe children who live in Ramana’s Garden have been determined to be ‘at risk’. Each child that comes through this gate arrives because they would be at risk of either being murdered\, forced into prostitution\, child labour\, begging\, starvation or total neglect otherwise. Ramana’s Garden takes these children in and gives them a loving home\, family and education so they have the opportunity to become independent and functioning adults\, securing themselves a valuable position in society. \nStill today\, millions of Indian children are in dangerous circumstances due to having been born into the cycle of poverty\, ignorance\, and homelessness. Ramana’s Garden is working to rescue as many of them as possible and the need is prominent. With your help\, we believe that we can make a difference one child at a time. \nTheir goals are to: \n\nEmpower and encourage every child growing up at Ramana’s to be able to take risks and grow into an integrated unique human being.\nInstill in every child at Ramana’s Garden a sense of well-being and compassion for their fellow travellers on this journey through life.\nEnsure every child studying or living in Ramana’s Garden will enter the job market with sufficient skills to secure a valuable position for themselves.\n\n \nThe Details: \nWe arrive and meet in Rishikesh on March 13th. (We have had to cancel the part up on the farm in the mountains due to extreme snow). \nIf any of you wish to volunteer for longer\, we can discuss this with Dwabha and make it happen\, just let us know! \nEach day we will practice yoga and mediation together\, and spend time volunteering. You can take your practice off the mat\, and into the world. \nThis will include: \n\ndaily yoga asana sessions (including mythology\, mantra and mudra)\ndaily mediation\nsharing circles\nsatsung\nkarma yoga\ndelicious nutritious organic local farmed meals\nadventure time to explore\na community of like-minded volunteers from across the world\n\n \nRishikesh:  \nFrom March 13th-20th we will be staying in Rishikesh\, where our focus will be sharing our love and attention with these beautiful children at Ramana’s Gardens. We will ask you to bring an activity that is close to your heart and is creative and engaging. For example you might teach them a dance or a song\, share yoga with them\, bring your favourite games from your country\, or make some beautiful art. \nWhilst we are in Rishikesh\, we will also: \n\nvisit The “Beatles” Ashram (ashram of Yogi Maharishi Mahesh)\nbathe in the Holy River Ganga\nattending Satsung and Kirtan with world renowned teachers\ntake part in the Aarti Puja on the River Ganga\nexplore temples\, ashrams\, shops and cafes\nperhaps take a day or even an overnight trip to a beautiful organic nature village nearby\n\n \n \n \n  \nThe Food: \nAll of the food is organic or sustainably sourced\, much of it grown in the gardens. Local cheeses\, organic eggs\, homemade chutneys and jams\, our own olive oil and fresh fruit and vegetables are always readily available. \n  \n \n  \nThe Price: \nTo join this retreat the cost is £555 (this is for all whether you wish to stay with us or have you own accommodation in Rishikesh already). \nYou will need to organise your own travel to India\, visa\, and internal travel to Rishikesh. Although we will help arrange taxis and airport meet ups to make this as easy as possible. \nYou will also pay for your own accommodation in our local guesthouse which is roughly £20 a night for single room and £10 to share\, and your lunch and dinner which are approx £5 a meal. \nIf you are able to make a donation to Ramana’s\, you can do this by sponsoring a child or making a larger donation to Ramana’s Garden. You will also be asked to bring various simple things that Ramana’s need such as clothing and medical supplies. So expect to be asked to buy these things and save half of your suitcase space for this! \n \n  \nAccommodation: \nIf you wish to stay with us\, we will be in a local guesthouse called Hotel Grace Ganga\, close to the Children’s Home with views of the mountains and River Ganga. \n \n \nThe Details:  \nWe will be able to check into our rooms in the afternoon of the 13th and will then meet as a group around 4.30pm. We will finish around lunchtime on the 20th\, but you may wish to stay that night for Holi celebrations. \n  \nThe Replenish Effect: \nIt is important that our retreats bring benefit and expansion to all who are involved. We don’t just want you to fly in\, taxi straight to the retreat centre and then leave the country. We make our retreats meaningful in the local community by building partnerships\, supporting independently run businesses and doing all the little things that make a big difference\, like helping you offset the carbon for your travel. This retreat is run fully as a seva retreat with the utmost care taken in terms of our impact in the local community and cultural appropriation. \n  \nThe International Yoga Festival (optional): \n \n  \nMarch 1-7th. The International Yoga Festival is a beautiful seven day immersion held on the banks of the River Ganga at Parmath Niketan Ashram. You have the opportunity to learn from both Indian swamis\, teachers and masters as well as revered international teachers in amongst a community of around 2000 yogis. You stay in the ashram\, getting a taste of the beauty of ashram life as well as being uplifted\, inspired and awakened by the practices\, ceremonies and musical performances. \nMore information here – www.internationalyogafestival.org \nHoli – Festival of Colour (optional): \nHoli this year will also be right at the end of our retreat! This will take place on the 21st March but the fun will start on the evening of the 20th. \nHoli is a spring festival that essentially celebrates the triumph of good over evil. Coinciding with the end of winter and the beginning of a new season\, it is treated as a time to give thanks for a good harvest. It is also considered a time to come together and end any conflicts you might have in your relationships with others. \nEveryone will be out on the streets\, throwing colours and playing. It’s something beautiful to see and be part of – especially with the kids! \n \nPrabhavati Dwabha on The Future Is Beautiful Podcast: \n \nEarlier this year\, Amisha interviewed Dwabha (the founder of Ramana’s Garden) about her story and the importance of giving. \n“Life is better if you are honestly doing your best to make a difference for another being. If you know that in living your life – however you are – you are also making a significant  difference for others who would otherwise have no chance… You live different\, you feel different\, you are different.”~ Prabhavati Dwabha \nE34 – Prabhavati Dwabha on Child Poverty\, Education and Philanthropy \nBreaking the cycle of poverty\, ignorance\, and homelessness \nHow can one person make a difference to overwhelming poverty and suffering? \n \nYou can find out more about this interview and the podcast\, here. \n  \nAbout Amisha: \n“I came to Amisha’s retreat to learn more about the practice of YOGA. The cottages are built in traditional Indonesian style from recycled teak wood with a rustic but elegant feel and all the rooms rooms have AC\, en suite bathroom\, hot water\, wifi\, and a safe for your valuables. \nThere is a beautiful teardrop pool to swim in and relax by and a number of quiet shady areas around the property to rest and just be. \nIt is a perfect place to unwind\, breathe in the air\, space and nature. The environment invites you to reconnect to the simplicity of natural living and dissolve the hardness and stresses of work life. \nWe will have the retreat space exclusively to ourselves. \nSamata is a Sanskrit word which translates as balance or equilibrium. The centre has been created as to raise funds for The Dungari Foundation\, a non-profit whose goal is to find sustainable solutions to preserve a growing list of endangered species solely endemic to high altitude Alpine Himalaya. There work includes researching the herbs\, conserving them for future generations and empowering and educating villagers to cultivate these herbs. They also discourage illegal wild-harvesting practices to protect this fragile ecosystem and these ancient and important medicines that have been birthed from these sacred mountains. \n \nThe Food: \nThe vegetarian food is exquisite; the ingredients are mostly home grown and organic from the retreat garden and Tess\, the chef and ayurvedic specialist carefully designs a delicious and healing ayurvedic menu to nourish us during our stay. They first bonded over nearly having the same name\, and then as their journeys unfolded found a mutual love and motivation towards the discovery of yoga and transformation as both dedicated teachers and students. They have spent time in India together visiting temples and deepening their practice and continue to inspire and compliment one another with their passion and curiosity to challenge themselves\, each other and their students towards growth. They are true kalyanamitras\, which is the sanskrit word for friends on the spiritual path – and their teaching styles complement each others. \n“I have been on retreats with Mischa and Amisha both individually and together. They are each unique yet have similar teaching backgrounds which I find compliment one another. I love the fact that Mischa’s practise is physical\, strong and deep spiritually. I always come away having learnt something new. Amisha is wonderful and again with her wisdom and teaching structure I have found myself over the past year or two developing my own spirituality and yoga practice.” Bobana\, Creative \n“Mischa and Amisha are an amazing\, beautiful pair. They both live their teachings in a new and inspiring way and have a deep knowledge and understanding of yoga. I spent a weekend with them last year and found it nourishing\, fascinating and joyful\, we were all taken on a mystical journey through some of the practices of yoga\, old and new. I would wholeheartedly recommend spending time with them on a retreat\, it will be a magical and uplifting experience!” Charlotte\, Consultant \n  \n \nAbout Amisha: \n“I came to Amisha’s retreat to learn more about the practice of YOGA. She taught me how to open up more and be in the moment. I loved how she created a space for the whole group to feel at home and safe. She really made me fall in love with Yoga. I will take her knowledge with me for the rest of my life. She is warm\, wise and lovely.” Aemilia\, Film Producer \n“Amisha is a gifted yoga teacher that shows her knowledge of both the spiritual and the physical side of yoga\, and teaches both brilliantly. This retreat was life changing and I still hear her voice singing mantras in my head!”  Paul\, Entrepreneur \n“Amisha is a breath of fresh air!! She is kind\, gentle\, loving and full of light energy. Taking her mantra workshop at Bali Spirit Fest genuinely changed my practice and I thank her everyday for how she has helped me grow!” Ally\, Entrepreneur \n \nWith a love of yoga and meditation that has spanned over a decade\, Amisha Ghadiali’s own “burn out” led her to train as a teacher\, which in turn opened a giant rabbit hole into the mystical realms. Her classes are strong yet relaxing\, focused on clear alignment and moving from the heart. She has a calming presence and uses playful theming\, mantra and experience of exploring world wisdom traditions\, to leave her students with inspiration\, grounding and joy they can bring into their daily lives. \nAmisha is a 500 hour certified Yoga teacher after completing her advanced teacher training with Sianna Sherman\, and is a modern day priestess\, reiki master and intuitive energy healer. Her background is in politics and sustainable fashion\, and since 2006 she has been designing jewellery for her own label with the tagline “elegance rebellion.” She creates meaningful pieces such as malas for chanting\, made with precious gemstones. She brings all this awareness and her fascination with the relationship of our inner and outer worlds\, to her work. \nAmisha has used these practices in her own life to work with trauma including recovering from being run over by a pick-up truck. She has lived that typical stressful city life\, and found that bringing a soulful healthy approach to her every day made things much more rewarding and balanced. She recently founded Replenish\, where she leads retreats and works one-on-one through her mentoring programme to assist you in creating space to show up for yourself each day and to facilitate the formation of lifelong habits that will support and nurture your inner and outer connections. \nAmisha is also a writer and speaker on all aspects of conscious and green living. A big part of her ‘yoga’ is exploring how we relate to the world around us and embody our values.  She hosts the podcast and edited the collaborative book\, The Future Is Beautiful\, coining the term Creative Activism and bringing together ideas and artwork from over two hundred contributors to inspire a brighter future. Her words have appeared in publications including The Huffington Post\, Rebelle Society & Ecouterre and she has spoken at events and festivals around the world such as TEDx Oxbridge\, Sunday Papers Live & Burning Man. \n  \nAbout Mischa: \n“The retreat was a sweet breath of fresh air. Mischa is a truly inspiring teacher who in four short days has helped me deepen my relationship to yoga and further the spiritual connection to my physical practice.” Loren\, Music Producer \n“I can’t express the transformation I experienced in both body and mind the retreat with Mischa.  She truly is an inspirational teacher. What a blessing to have a whole week with her! As a teacher myself\, I recognise the hard work and dedication that goes into these retreats and I can only say that Mischa has a true gift for sharing her strong\, soulful yoga in a way that truly connects you back to your root and to the universe as a whole.  I learnt so much about myself and about the beautiful gift that is Yoga. Her energy is so nurturing and her passion and dedication to the practice shines through. I cannot wait for the next one! Thank you Mischa\, for continuing to inspire me on my journey.” Sally-Anne\, Yoga Teacher \n \n  \nMischa’s yoga journey began over a decade ago and slowly began to weave its way through her life; she is continually humbled and inspired by the potential of yoga to transform\, expand and heal and is devoted to sharing the practice with others.  She is a 500 hour trained teacher having finished her 300 hour training with her teacher Sianna Sherman. She is also in apprenticeship with Sianna and part of teh Rasa Yoga Teaching team and she regularly assists on workshops and advance trainings around the globe. Mischa has spent over a year in India studying\, practicing and visiting sacred sites and it holds a special place in her heart. \nHer teaching is heartfelt and creative with a deep focus on breath and alignment and a combination of strong steady flow and longer holds to both uplift and tap into the stillness. She has a diverse and deep practice and is most inspired to share the creativity of vinyasa and hatha flow which allow the freedom to explore the infinite possibilities of the practice. She draws her understanding from a number of styles and traditions\, particularly inspired by the philosophy and practices of the Tantric lineage. Her classes are woven with philosophy\, myth and stories and include music\, chanting and ritual.  She is also influenced by her studies and training in the Priestess tradition and extensive travels to both Asia\, Indonesia and South America. \nMischa works with Ayurvedic Yoga Massage\, a beautiful combination of deep tissue massage with assisted yoga stretches and alignment\, and Reiki to support the physical and energetic healing process. She is also fully trained in Naturopathy and Nutritional Therapy which she integrates into her holistic approach in practicing and sharing the teachings and supporting individuals on their journey towards greater wellbeing. \nMischa is currently based in London teaching across some of the leading studios but continues to travel for study\, practice and teaching. Her teaching is passionate and knowledgeable\, her intention is to both challenge and restore\, holding a space for individuals to awaken and reveal their highest Self. Expect to  be taken on a journey of self inquiry and unfolding. \nFacebook Live:  \nYou can also watch our facebook live talking about the retreat and pilgrimage – https://www.facebook.com/amisha.ghadiali/videos/1938280072893242/ \n \n  \nHow to Book: \nIf you have any questions or would like to reserve a place\, please contact Amisha on takeamoment@amisha.co.uk or Mischa on info@mischavarmuza.com \n

SUMMARY:Durga Kali Mythic Yoga Flow: Empower & Breathe (Navaratri Celebration)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an empowering practice themed around our ability to impact the world around us. We will dive into the myth of the Goddesses Durga & Kali as we chant mantra\, practice asana and come to understand what we can do as yogis to embody our values and share our power in the world. The yoga will be fierce\, opening us to our fullest potential\, connecting us to our heart and our inner divine feminine. Durga is the warrior – she represents courage and the power of love. Kali is the wild one – she represents our ferociousness and fearlessness. Kali is born out of Durga’s third eye during an epic battle. SUMMARY:The Future Is Beautiful Patronathon
DESCRIPTION:What’s a patronathon you ask?? – well it’s a bit like comic relief. We entertain the masses on Facebook live for two hours in the hope we can get people to laugh/cry their way into donating.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI came up with this idea whilst on a bus in India as a way to get the crowdfund moving for The Future Is Beautiful.\n\n\n\n\nWhy do we need support? Well\, our team are working on this as a gift to the world because there are so many people challenging the dominant story we are living in – and who have ideas that can lead us to a beautiful future. The truth is\, we all have! And that’s why we need inspiring and a little nudge which is what happens on the podcast.\n\n\n\n\n\nWe weave politics\, spirituality\, creativity and sustainability so that we can come out of our silos of thinking into a more integrated way of being.\n\n\n\n\n\nWe interview a diverse range of humans (like you). These inspiring conversations look into the darkness and difficulties of life and challenging the status quo\, providing comfort and a grounded optimism.\n\n\n\n\nwhat’s a patron?\n\n\nnow anybody can be a patron\, you don’t need tons of cash\, you can just donate anything from the price of a banana per episode to something much bigger. if enough of you do this\, then we are funded by our listeners which means we can remain advertising free – and spend our time actually looking at how we can live fuller lives rather than sell you stuff you don’t need.\n\n\n\n\n\nat the moment\, amisha (host & producer) works for free\, and lucy (writer) and jack (sound editor) get a very small amount for the work they do. we want to all be able to spend more time working on this and feel less squeezed!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHOW TO GET INVOLVED?\n\n\n\n\n\n** Become a patron – www.thefutureisbeautiful.co/community\n\n\n\n\n\n** Tell your friends about the podcast – www.thefutureisbeautiful.co\n\n\n\n\n\n** Join us on facebook live 7.30-9.30pm (UK time)\, 11.30am (PDT)\, 2.30pm (EDT)\, 00.00 (IDT).\n\n\n\n\n\n** Come to the patronathon centre (Amisha’s flat in Hackney) from 6pm for a curry before we go live. Bring instruments\, poems\, and what not. (Friends and lovers welcome too). It’s a very late birthday celebration for Amisha too.\n\n\n\n\nWe will act out being on the phone lines\, share live updates of donations coming in\, and do some stories of the sad children deprived of this kind of culture and information. (RSVP or message Amisha for address)

SUMMARY:Alchemy & Activism: turn your wounds into something beautiful
DESCRIPTION:Book Tickets Here \nAlchemy & Activism: turn your wounds into something beautiful \nHow lucky are we to be alive in the 21st Century?   \nWe have access to all the greatest\, most magical\, potent spiritual practices and teachings from across time and space. And in the last century\, we have had incredible knowledge literally pouring into every orifice from schools of Western psychology and the human sciences. \n  \nOur biggest challenge now is this: \nHow can we take this kaleidoscope of wisdom and knowledge\, and use it in a practical\, playful and grounded way to build a more beautiful future? \nHow can we alchemise our individual and collective wounds into the gold of compassionate action? \n  \nWe feel this is a pretty important question in a world obsessed with SELF-help. We want to build a sturdy\, inspiring bridge between ‘self’ and ‘other’. \nWe want to move from blame culture to empowered\, creative\, and hopeful action. We want to transform our grief and shame at the state of the world into a super-inspiring\, practical vision. \nWe want to move beyond spiritual bypassing\, narcissism\, tourism and materialism – and instead really embody our values\, starting with the community we find ourself in. \nThis is not easy work\, it’s the road less travelled. If you are looking for escapism\, this isn’t for you. We ain’t getting high. But we are showing up with rolled up sleeves and a sense of humour as we unlearn what we think we know and explore these questions together. \n‘We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.’ (Hopi Elders) \nBook Tickets Here \n  \nDay Retreat – 10am til 5pm \nOur backdrop is the stunningly beautiful\, deeply sacred chapel in Fitzrovia\, London – the perfect place to spend a Sunday. \nThe day is split into two halves: inner and outer. We will start and finish the day with a circle where we’ll each have the opportunity to share what is present for us\, and explore the question together with open hearts and minds. \nWe begin going inside. Amisha will lead an alchemical yoga session guiding us to bring love to our personal and collective wounds as they present themselves in our bodies. Louis will then guide an extended transpersonal meditation which will allow us to connect with the deep healing intelligence of Life\, and kindle our fiery activist hearts. We’ll then hold a grief ritual that will allow us to release our wounds – both personal and collective.   \nIn the afternoon\, we will build a golden bridge from the inner to the outer\, tapping into the creativity and compassion of our activist hearts. We’ll be taking our personal insights and revelations from the morning and using them to create practical\, beautiful tools that we can use to make a radical difference in the world around us. \n  \nThis day is for you if you at times get fed up by the state of the world\, if you feel that the time is ripe to translate our spiritual work into practical\, compassionate action\, and if you want to find a more empowered way to contribute\, connecting with an amazing bunch of people who can support and hold you in this process. \n  \n“It is always from our deepest wound\, from the thing that breaks our heart the most\, that our yearning\, our calling\, our purpose in life emerges.” ~Vera de Chalambert \n  \nRough programme: (this might evolve & change on the day) \n10-11am: Opening Circle \n11-12pm: Yoga with Amisha \n12-12.45pm: Meditation with Louis \n12.45-1.15pm: Grief Ritual \n1.15-2.15pm: Lunch \n2.15-4.30pm: Sacred Activism Workshop \n4.30-5pm: Closing Circle \n  \nEvening Event – 6.15pm til 8.45pm \nBring your songs and words of hope\, freedom and grief. For the evening we are opening up the chapel to a bigger group to share music\, poetry\, and our activist creations from the day. This will be a co-created participatory event open mic style\, so bring anything you would like to share as we jam together on the theme of Alchemy & Activism. \n  \nTickets: \nFull Day: Beautiful Day Retreat (£100 per person including a healthy delicious lunch and evening event) \n £80 for members of Radical Alchemists or Patrons of The Future Is Beautiful (email for discount code)  \nWe have a few places available that are subsidised\, if you would like one of these\, write to us at takeamoment(@)amisha.co.uk \n(Come in comfortable clothing for the morning that you can move in. Yoga mats will be provided. But bring a blanket and a water bottle). \nEvening Event: £12 \nWe are very excited about this event. There has already been a lot of interest so we recommend booking very soon to avoid disappointment. \nBook Tickets Here \n  \nAbout us: \nAlchemy & Activism is hosted by Amisha Ghadiali (The Future is Beautiful) and Louis Weinstock (Radical Alchemy). \n \nAmisha is the founder of The Future Is Beautiful\, a community that weaves together politics\, spirituality\, creativity and sustainability through the collaborative book and the podcast she hosts – to inspire us each to rise up\, move beyond silos and create a beautiful future. Fascinated by the connection between our inner and outer worlds\, she facilitates retreats\, workshops and one to one sessions. Her “Presence Mentoring” leadership programme uses intuitive therapy to clear subconscious patterning and awaken new qualities within\, as well as focusing on integration and maintaining a daily practice. Her retreats and workshops are deep and playful dives into the practices\, intimacy and the self – with mantra\, yoga asana\, meditation\, mudra\, energy healing\, contemplation\, pranayama\, ritual\, dance and activism. Amisha’s words have appeared in publications including The Huffington Post\, Rebelle Society & Ecouterre and she has spoken at events and festivals around the world such as TEDx Oxbridge\, Sunday Papers Live & UnBox. \nIn addition she has been part of pioneering projects and social enterprises including: Ethical Fashion Forum\, Impact Hub\, Provenance\, Fashion Revolution and Compass. Amisha brings activism into everything she does\, and through her project Think Act Vote (which became The Future Is Beautiful) coined the term Creative Activism. Her background is in politics where she worked in parliament and the US congress – working on many campaigns including Make Poverty History\, The Yes Campaign (for AV)\, Fashion Revolution. She has volunteered on projects all over the world including facilitating UNA-Exchange projects working with kids in valleys of Wales\, to working with teenage orphans in Bulgaria to hosting retreats in India that combine service with spiritual practices. In fact she is taking a group to an orphanage and farm in India next year if you wish to join. \nwww.amisha.co.uk \n \nLouis Weinstock is a Transpersonal Psychotherapist\, Meditation Teacher\, and Social Entrepreneur. He runs an inclusive spiritual community called Radical Alchemy\, and is cofounder of Bounce Works\, a social enterprise that uses playful design and digital technology to resolve the growing crisis in young people’s mental health. \n\nLouis first discovered meditation aged 10\, when he sat cross-legged on his spiderman duvet and realised that by focusing on his breath he could exert mind over matter. In his early 20s\, after reaching a crisis point\, he dedicated his life to service. His mission has been to empower people trapped on the edges of society\, from homeless young people\, to drug addicts in the criminal justice system. For four years\, he ran a therapeutic education provision for some of London’s most troubled teens. He went on to develop a mindfulness programme for kids with complex trauma\, was invited to consult Headspace on their mindfulness for kids offering\, and has in the last few years specialised in working with grief and people at the end of life.\n\nLouis has travelled extensively\, studying wisdom traditions from around the world\, including both personal and academic studies of Postcolonial Political Psychology\, Surrealist philosophy\, indigenous wisdom traditions\, and studying with meditation masters\, yogis and indigenous wisdom-keepers in Asia\, South America and Europe. However\, he has learned the most from the clients he has worked with\, those human beings that found the courage to transform their suffering into compassionate action-in-the-world\, often in spite of extreme\, traumatising\, soul-restricting environments. \n\nLouis’ work and writings have featured in the BBC\, The Guardian\, You Magazine\, ITV News\, Evening Standard. He co-wrote a bestselling book about rituals with his wife called The Inner Beauty Bible\, published by Harper Collins\, and now translated into 3 languages. \nwww.louisweinstock.com \n  \nFitzrovia Chapel: \n \n \nBook Tickets Here

SUMMARY:Sacred Activism - Facebook Live with Louis Weinstock
DESCRIPTION:Tonight at 8.30pm I will be doing a Facebook Live event with the brilliant Louis Weinstock. \nWe will be discussing the overlap between personal transformation and solving meaningful problems in the world. \nIs it true that if enough people just meditate then we can all live in peace for ever more? \nIs social media helping or hindering the shift to a more caring\, peaceful way of being for us humans? \nHow can there be: \na) more people than ever before pursuing psychological and spiritual development and \nb) Donald Trump and Teresa May? \nWhat is spiritual bypass\, and how to avoid it. \nWhy we can’t (and shouldn’t even try to) separate our inner worlds from what is going on around us. \nHow we can all find our own form of meaningful activism. \nAnd most importantly\, we want your questions\, comments\, and insights. \nThis is in the lead up to our event on Sunday 2nd September in London – Alchemy & Activism: Turn your wounds into something beautiful \n  \nTo join us on facebook live – join the event page here so you will be alerted when we are starting! \n

Just that you have a desire and curiosity to discover more about yourself\, try new things and meet new people. Come with an open heart and open mind. Hampi is a stunning UNESCO heritage site\, located on the banks of River Tungabhadra. \n“Unreal and bewitching\, the forlorn ruins of Hampi dot an unearthly landscape that will leave you spellbound the moment you cast your eyes on it. Heaps of giant boulders perch precariously over miles of undulating terrain\, their rusty hues offset by jade-green palm groves\, banana plantations and paddy fields.” \nThis ancient and magical place has Hindu and Jain temple ruins. We will dive deep into the mythology and trek up to the Hanuman temple\, which is said to be the birth place of the monkey god of courage. \nWe will visit temples\, take place in sunrise prayer\, and enjoy the bustle of India. \nPlease let me know as soon as possible if you would like to join the adventure so that accommodation and a tour guide can be booked. \n \nThe Details: \nRetreat // Monday 12th – Monday 19th February. We don’t just want you to fly in\, taxi straight to the retreat centre and then leave the country. We make our retreats meaningful in the local community by building partnerships\, supporting independently run businesses and doing all the little things that make a big difference\, like helping you offset the carbon for your travel. You can also make a voluntary contribution to The Replenish Project. Find out more about it here. \n  \n  \nAbout Amisha: \n“Amisha isn’t a new age yogi. She’s traditional in her teachings and practice and I feel like through her teaching my practice has deepened and I have made more of a connection with my divine self. The impact of this retreat you can’t even describe. Taking a week to go deep into yourself and learn about the connection is life changing and uplifting.” Bobana\, Make-Up Artist  \n  \nAmisha is delighted to be offering this retreat in her motherland of India\, where both her parents were born and raised. Amisha has spent extensive time in India since she was a child learning about her culture. Having grown up in the UK\, she is able to offer an international perspective to yoga\, combined with a native heart. This is her third year teaching in India. \nWith a love of yoga and meditation that has spanned over a decade\, Amisha Ghadiali teaches yoga that is influenced by the anusara tradition\, flowing with nature. Her classes are strong yet relaxing\, focused on clear alignment and moving from the heart. She has a calming presence and uses playful theming\, mantra and experience of exploring world wisdom traditions\, to leave her students with magic\, grounding and joy they can bring into their daily lives. \nShe is a 500 Hour certified teacher since completing her advanced teacher training in Rasa Yoga with Sianna Sherman\, and has also trained as a priestess. There will be mudra\, mantra\, mythology\, pranayama\, ritual and play in the yoga sessions on the retreat. Each day will be themed with a different indian god or goddess\, learning their story and what they represent inside us. \nAmisha has used these practices in her own life to work with trauma including recovering from being run over by a pick-up truck. She has lived that typical stressful busy london life\, and found that bringing a soulful healthy approach to her every day made living in the city much more joyful\, rewarding and balanced. This inspires her to teach in London and offer retreats and workshops for a deeper experience. \nShe is a reiki master and intuitive healer who works with clients to clear blockages for greater freedom and empowerment. Amisha has been designing jewellery for her own label with the tagline “elegance rebellion” since 2006 working with semi-precious stones. She brings all this awareness to offer a holsitic approach to her clients and students. \nAmisha is also a writer and speaker on all aspects of conscious and green living. A big part of her ‘yoga’ is about how we relate to the world around us and make a difference. How we embody our values. Her words have appeared in publications including The Huffington Post\, Rebelle Society & Ecouterre. She has spoken at events and festivals around the world such as TEDx Oxbridge\, Sunday Papers Live & Burning Man. Her collaborative book\, and podcast The Future Is Beautiful weave together politics\, sustainability\, creativity and spirituality – bringing together these communities to inspire action\, awaken hearts\, and raise consciousness to guide us to a brighter future. \n“I attended Amisha’s yoga retreat in Goa.
